The Computer, Electrical, and Mathematical Sciences and Engineering Division (https://cemse.kaust.edu.sa) at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) invites applications for research faculty positions at the ranks of Research Assistant Professor and Research Associate Professor.

Successful candidates are expected to contribute to one or more of KAUST’s strategic missions in Energy, Health, Food, Water, the Red Sea, and Artificial Intelligence. CEMSE is particularly interested in researchers whose work combines fundamental advances with mission-driven applications. Priority areas include artificial intelligence and machine learning, including AI for science; scalable and resilient computing and cybersecurity; power, sensing, robotics, autonomous and intelligent systems; energy-efficient digital hardware and integrated circuits; mathematics and computational methods for data science, uncertainty quantification, quantum computing, and digital twins; and modern statistical methods, including spatio-temporal, Bayesian, and AI-enabled statistics. We especially welcome candidates whose research bridges multiple CEMSE disciplines and connects strongly to KAUST mission areas. Exceptional candidates in other strategically relevant areas of CEMSE will also be considered.

Qualifications

We are particularly interested in candidates with educational backgrounds from distinguished institutions of higher learning or those who have previously contributed to such institutions. Ideal candidates will possess a Ph.D. degree in a field relevant to this call and a documented ability to attract external research funding and conduct high-impact research.

Faculty members enjoy secure research funding from KAUST commensurate with their level of experience and have opportunities for additional funding through several sources provided directly by KAUST, as well as through external sources including government organizations and industry.
